One Sunday

Yesterday was a typical Sunday at our home, but for one exception. A long time friend of the Lechuga family visited on Saturday and Sunday. In a way, Pera is the grandmother of the whole mission in San Mateo and Huejotzingo. She is the one who, while Abraham was still a teenager, shared Christ with the family.

Until she came in to their lives, Abraham and Six both lived without meaning. She invested herself in them, opening her home, sharing meals and her faith, and then inviting them to church. It was through her that they arrived at Dios es Amor church and, twenty eight years ago during a Good Friday service, accepted Jesus into their hearts.

If Pera had not been willing to reach out to Six and Abraham, they would not have become Christians, and I would not have married Abraham. We would not be here as missionaries, together with our children. Thank God that he used her to bring them in to his family!

Both Abraham and Six began attending every event at the church and serving in many areas. They grew in faith and, a few years later, became involved in the church’s outreach in Huejotzingo. From then on, both of them continued to be involved in ministry in Huejo.
